On Tuesday night, Allen Iverson had a little reunion with some of his old teammates as his old team (the Philadelphia 76ers) came to town to play the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. Allen Iverson ended up getting ejected with 8:43 to go in the 4th quarter, and that cost the Nuggets the game. Philadelphia went on to win the game by 11, 108-97.
.
Ex-Nugget Andre Miller, who was involved in the deal for Allen Iverson, had himself a good night in front of his old crowd, posting a double-double: 17 points, 10 assists. He even got 4 rips and 4 rebounds. Kyle Korver was the high-point man for Philadelphia, shooting 10-20 from the floor, going for 26 points. The other guy involved in the Iverson deal, Joe Smith, had a good game as well. He started and scored 12 points, as well as grabbed 8 rebounds, in 26 minutes. Willie Green and Steven Hunter each scored double figures off the bench (10 and 13 points), and Samuel Dalembert had 10 of his own. Andre Iguodala struggled, shooting just 2-8, and only scoring 7 points. He did manage to grab 10 rebounds and dish 4 assists, however.
.
Iverson did get ejected at a crucial point in the game and turn the ball over 7 times, but he had himself a pretty good game. He scored 30 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished 9 assists. Marcus Camby had an outstanding all-around game, scoring just 8 points, but grabbed 16 rebounds and blocking 7 shots. Rookie Yakhouba Diawara had himself a career best 23 points, knocking down 5 of 10 from deep, and grabbing 5 rebounds. Earl Boykins didn’t have another 20 point game, but he posted solid all-around numbers (13 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists). Reggie Evans also was terrific. He only played 13 minutes, but he grabbed 9 rebounds off the bench (7 offensive).
